In our industry, there is much talk about fairly traded coffee, and for good reason. It’s great to see so many coffee companies pursuing sustainable and ethical agendas, even choosing to compete about who’s the fairest of them all. Sustainable and ethical practices aren’t shrewd marketing at Nossa Familia, they’re a family tradition. Our family has embraced sustainable practices for 120 years. This tradition is a point of great pride for us, and it’s one we carry forward each day. And it’s why we say our coffee isn’t just fairly traded, it’s family traded. We try to send out our newsletter every month. However, there’s a reason we call it the “almost monthly” news of Nossa Familia. We’ve discovered that our newsletter output is inversely proportional to the pace of our business. That is to say, we’ve been swamped. This is great news, of course, but we also feel bad for not having stayed in touch with all of you. To make up for our tardiness (our last newsletter was in early February), we’re having a coffee sale! For the next few weeks, we are discounting our coffee by $2.00 per bag! Naturally, we’ll still donate $1 for every pound sold to your charity of choice. And, as always, shipping is free with any order over $45. |

We’ve heard from many of our customers, and we know Nossa’s dedication to donations is important to you. It’s an elevating feeling to know with every cup of coffee enjoyed, a little good is done in the world. To encourage connectivity between our wonderful customers and partner charities, we’re going to include stories from these organizations in our newsletter. Women Build is designated by a Habitat affiliate and project-managed and built entirely by crews of women volunteers. Portland Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program engages women of every race, age, and skill level to plan and build all aspects of a healthy and affordable home with an eligible family.
