Inaugural Newsletter:
Welcome to our first newsletter! The last few months have been full of hard work, late nights, and countless cups of coffee but we've been making great progress. Begining with this issue, it is our goal to share with you the story behind our coffees and to keep you up to date on what Cafe Nossa Familia has to offer. If you have any ideas, please let us know as we love the suggestions. We hope this finds you well and that you enjoy our coffee!
Web Site Launch:
www.cafenossafamilia.com is up and running! Included on the site is some great information on the coffee, the farm, and the great family tradition. The site will continue to grow so check back regularly.
The Carvalho Dias family has had a long history of social and environmental responsibilty. It is a key element of our business philosophy to continue and extend the family's mission as far as we can. With this in mind Cafe Nossa Familia will donate $1 for every pound of coffee we sell to local charities. Visit the web site to learn more about how you can help.
Ordering:
Out of coffee? Don't want to go to the store? Visit Cafe Nossa Familia's on-line store and purchase as much coffee as you like with a credit card through our secure server. We have partnered with PayPal to make ordering a snap.
Simply select which coffee you would like, the amount of each, the charity you would like our donation to go towards and practically done. All orders are shipped next day Priority Mail so you won't have to wait.
The Coming Weeks:
We're still plugging along - trying to build a ground swell of support for our great coffee one person at a time. Both Augusto and Jason will be heading up to Se attle for a national coffee convention April 14th-18th. In addition to scoping out the competition, we will be selling green beans (unroasted) to other coffee roasters. Augusto's uncle will be flying up from Brazil to join us as well.
And as soon as the conference is over, Augusto and family will be setting off for Brazil - all work related of course: Ride horses through the coffee fields to inspect next years crop, take pictures for the website, make sure the beaches in Rio are still gorgeous, suntan, and email Jason about how tough life is. Meanwhile, back at home Jason will be unloading 2000 lbs. of coffee by himself. Who do you think drew the short straw here?
And finally, we ask that you please pass this on to those who appreciate fine coffee grown and sold with responsibility in mind. Thank you for your support!

Our fresh shipment of coffee has been roasted to an Italian roast
perfection, bringing out a full body, exotic aromas and rich flavor of each
bean. Regular, Decaf, and Organic are available to choose from in either whole bean or ground coffee.

Held annually, the competition draws the best coffee growers from across Brazil. Over 900 samples were submitted from hundreds of farms and rated by an internationally acclaimed jury. In 2004, Augusto's family (Carvalho Dias) took 1st Place. Not only did they win, but they have been in the Top 5 for 6 straight years - a feat unheard of in the coffee industry!
